Take a locals tour of London with Madeline Walsh, mother of two and founder of award winning lifestyle store, Me & Buddy.
If I wasn’t a local I’d stay at … Ham Yard Hotel. The location is fantastic, and it’s a paradise for kids as well as grown ups.
You’ll find the best coffee hit at … Grind. There are locations across the capital and they all serve fantastic coffee against a backdrop of super stylish interiors.
Start your day strong with breakfast at … Granger & Co on Westbourne Grove. Unbelievably tasty yet healthy food, plus really family friendly.
My local lunch go-to is … sushi at Sushi Shop in Richmond. Currently my favourite sushi in London.
For dinner you have to try … one of the no-reservation restaurants in Soho – Barrafina, Polpo and Kiln are my favourites. Just make sure you allow for some queuing time and leave the kids with the babysitter!
Indulge in drinks at …. Chiltern Firehouse. Gorgeous interiors, buzzing atmosphere and delicious bar food. Plus you might even spot a celebrity.
Treat yourself to some R&R at …. the Ned Spa. Even non-members can indulge in the treatments in this amazing spa. My favourite pre-holiday treatment is the Salt Scrub and Massage.
Shop till you drop away from the tourist traps at …Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill. Understated, stylish boutiques and brands.
Every visitor to London has to … check out the British Museum. It houses an incredible collection of antiquities and gives a fascination insight into the history of civilisations across the world.
The best place to take kids is … the world-class museums in South Kensington. There really is something for everyone between the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert (V&A). Plus, the suggested entrance fee is small and voluntary.
My favourite day trip from London is … Brighton. Only an hour by train, it’s no ordinary seaside town. Think delicious and healthy cafes, cool and quirky shops. Head to the western end of the beach in Hove to avoid the crowds and hire bikes to cruise along the seafront.
